I watched the games on television in MA. The combination of Conklin playing
well and Maine having trouble scoring all year resulted in the undisciplined
penalties. The team was frustrated. The penalty I found most disturbing was
the Metcalf cross check to a UNH player in the back of his head. Other than
that, I think the team worked hard all weekend.

Might people have overestimated what this team is capable of? Last year at
this time I was thinking if we only had a decent goalie. This year, I'm
thinking if we could only score. So things can turn around. However, I
started watching Maine in '90 and can't recall a weaker offense.

The BU games this weekend are critical for both teams. Both are on the verge
of having records not worthy of receiving at large bids for the NCAA's. Maine
needs to sweep BU.

So far the most irritating thing I have witnessed at a game this year was a
couple of Maine players "chatting" with some BU players with smiles on thier
faces after Maine lost at Walter Brown this year. I guess the Maine players
today do not despise BU like they used to. It's unfortunate because I still
hate BU with a passion!
