Canucks send Steve Kariya to IHL
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - The Vancouver Canucks have assigned
winger Steve Kariya to the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey
League. Kariya, who is the younger brother of Anaheim superstar Paul Kariya,
has played in 16 games with the Canucks this year, recording one goal and
six assists. In 45 games with Vancouver last season, Kariya had eight goals
and 11 assists. He also had 18 goals and 23 assists in 29 regular season
games for the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League last year.
