MAINE SWEEPS INTO PLAYOFFS; FOX TO AIR BC/UNH
BC Eagles Soar into Beanpot Final Against Boston University

LAWRENCE, MA - Boston College goaltender Scott Clemmensen has fueled a
recent resurgence by the Boston College Eagles, collecting both his second

to a Nov. 30 win over Northeastern, BC is 14-2-1 in its last 17 games. BC
has four shutouts during their six-game streak. The Eagles have outscored
their opponents 32-4 during that stretch...BOSTON UNIVERSITY will be going

2000January 8th vs. BC, the Terriers are 7-0-4 in the millennium. The
Terriers remained unbeaten at home this year with their 5-3 win over
UMass/Lowell. They are now 10-0-3 at Walter Brown Arena during the
1999-2000 season...UNIVERSITY OF MAINE posted its first back-to-back
victories since winning the Denver Cup back on New Year's Day. This weekend
Maine will face UMass Lowell in Lowell for two games. The Black Bears have
not lost to the River Hawks since Nov. 23, 1996. Maine is 9-0-1 in the last
ten meetings between the two schools...UMASS AMHERST has scored four power
play goals in the past three games, breaking out of an 0 for 20 slump prior
to the game vs. UMass Lowell on the 6th of Feb. Freshman Tim Turner
(Saginaw, MI) stands alone as the most prolific freshman scorer at UMass
since the Minutemen joined Hockey East. Turner now has 21 points (5g, 16a),
surpassing the previous record of 16 held by teammate Kris Wallis. Turner
has been hot lately, collecting 13 points in the past 10 games, including
two power play goals vs. UMass Lowell on Feb. 6. Junior Markus Helanen
(Vantaa, FINLAND) has moved up into second place all time on the UMass

overall on Feb. 4 vs. BU. Helanen now has 1629 saves in his three seasons
at UMass. Senior Jeff Blanchard (Stouffville, ON) moved into the all-time
top ten scoring list at UMass on Saturday night vs. Maine. Blanchard's

10th all-time with Russ Kidd '66...UMASS LOWELL senior Craig Brown
(Winnipeg, MAN) was presented his trophy for as a Hockey Humanitarian
Finalist on Sunday vs. Merrimack. Lowell and Merrimack have played 77 times
