Carrol,
    I agree with you that labeling is a cop out. That is why I have objected
to Wei labeling Pound a Fascist, Confucianist, antisemite, misoggynist and
leaving it at that. Others have reacted the same as I have with a "So what?"
And when we have tried to discuss Pound in any other terms or pointed out
his acts which were the antithesis of these labels, well, you have witnessed
the result, an argument that these do not count. I didn't join this list to
argue, especially with someone who approaches the study of literature like
he is making a rock collection. If others wish to argue let them. I joined
this list because I have always liked Ezra Pound, warts and all.
    Incidently, have you read Richard Noll's book "The Aryan Christ:The
Secret Life of Carl Jung"? It is a product of the same type of "revealing"
research. When we get done with the book we wonder why he wasn't hung at
Nuremburg.
