The Fargo Coliseum is not even close to O.K. for a Division I team.
That was my home rink in high school and it is way to small for
any high school games.  There is no room behind the nets and no neutral zone.
College hockey would be a joke in that rink.  The FargoDome, where NDSU
plays football, is located on campus, the bleachers move in from one
side to make hockey or basketball arenas.  All of the equipment is in the
floor to make ice.
 
Money would be a big factor.  The FargoDome is not cheap to rent.  The
idea of Div 1 hockey in Fargo has been tossed around since the late
80's,  as a matter a fact $500,000 was offered to NDSU to start a
program a few years ago.  I just don't think it is going to happen, but it
certainly would be great to see UND & NDSU face off in front of 9,000.
