#14 Providence defeated at clarkson, 4-0
POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The 14th-ranked Providence College men's hockey team was
defeated at Clarkson, 4-0, in a non-conference game on Friday, November 29
at the Cheel Arena.
Clarkson struck first with 20 seconds remaining in the first period as
Chris Bahne fired a wrist shot from just inside the left face off circle
that beat PC's Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Sask.) high to the glove side.
The Golden Knights increased their lead to 2-0 when Rob McFeeters scored
on a 4-on-3 power play just 55 seconds into the second period. Clarkson
moved ahead, 4-0, on two power-play goals by Randy Jones within a span of
30 seconds in the second period. The Golden Knights converted on three of
their six power-play opportunities, while Providence went 0-6 on the man
advantage.
Schaefer made 30 saves in net for the Friars, while Clarkson's Mike Walsh
stopped 23 shots to earn his first shutout of the season.
The Friars are back in action on Saturday, November 30 versus St. Lawrence
in Canton, N.Y.
