I love the big ice sheet which emphasizes skill over goonism, but seriously doubt the NHL would change to that for that reason alone.  I mean, forget loss of seating - they want to crowd the ice for big banging.

But you could still remove the red-line.  I can't think of any other change, and this is dirt simple to do, that would do more to make NHL hockey a better game.  Too bad my opinions don't rule the world.  It would be such a better place if only....... :-)
