There is nothing in the NCAA rule book about this, but I suppose
individual referees might have their own idea on the subject.  The NHL
has or used to have such a rule, as I recall.

The NCAA does have a rule against bleeding (it's not allowed!). We
can go into particulars if anyone wants the discussion to go that way :-
)
