A good day for home teams, meaning that two series are done, and two
are going to a third and deciding game.

at #1 Quinnipiac 10, #9 Cornell 0 (Series tied 1-1)
Quinnipiac broke out for seven goals in a ridiculous second period, as
they tied the series in emphatic fashion. Travis St. Denis and Kellen
Jones each scored twice for the Bobcats, who led 2-0 after one period
and 9-0 after the second. Single goals came from Connor Jones, Matthew
Peca, Cory Hibbeler, Ben Arnt, Jordan Samuels-Thomas and Zach Tolkein.
The game exploded with a big skirmish at the end of the second period
(with Quinnipiac leading 9-0) that saw nine players penalized and the
ejection of Cornell's Madison Dias for a hit from behind. With three
more game misconducts in the third period (one to Cornell's John
McCarron and two to Quinnipiac's Russell Goodman), the video of this
game is likely to be hot viewing at ECAC headquarters, as the teams
combined for 34 penalties for 184 minutes. Quinnipiac outshot Cornell
42-17. Eric Hartzell picked up the win for the Bobcats, making nine
saves, while Michael Garteig played the third period and made eight
stops. For Cornell, Andy Iles was pulled at the 6:27 mark of the
second, after the Bobcats' fifth goal, and backup Omar Kanji - a
senior who had played 0:31 in his career previously - allowed four
goals in 13:33, making six saves. Iles returned to play the third
period, and finished with a total of 26 saves.

at #2 RPI 6, #7 Brown 2 (Series tied 1-1)
A pair of goals by Mike Zalewski led the RPI Engineers to a 6-2 win
over the Brown Bears, sending this series to Sunday night. Zalewski
scored two goals 2:39 apart early in the third to break the game open,
as RPI had taken a 3-2 lead after the second period. C.J. Lee and
Curtis Leonard scored to put RPI up 2-0 before Matt Lorito and Chris
Zaires scored for Brown to tie the game at 2-2. Jacob Laliberte's
power-play goal with 29 seconds left in the second was the
game-winner, and Greg Burgdoerfer scored the game's final goal with
nine seconds left. RPI outshot Brown 37-29, with Jason Kasdorf making
27 saves to pick up the win for RPI. Anthony Borelli started for
Brown, making 27 saves before he was pulled after RPI's fifth goal.
Marco De Filippo stopped four of five shots in the final 11:22. Milos
Bubela of RPI was ejected for elbowing in the first period, while
Dennis Roberts was tossed for a kneeing major in the second period.

at #3 Yale 3, #6 St. Lawrence 0 (Yale wins series 2-0)
Yale scored a goal in each period to secure their spot in Atlantic
City and send the Saints marching out of the playoffs. Tommy Fallen
scored a power-play goal in the first period, while Jesse Root added
another power-play goal in the second and Antonio Laganiere rounded
out the scoring in the second. Once again Yale badly outshot SLU, this
time by a 36-17 margin. Jeff Malcom earned the shutout with 17 saves,
while Matt Weninger made 33 saves in a losing cause. Yale went 2-for-4
on the power-play, but may be without the services of Clinton
Bourbonais next Friday, who got five and a game for Boarding in the
second period.

at #4 Union 5, #5 Dartmouth 2 (Union wins series 2-0)
A pair of goals two minutes apart early in the second game Union the
two-game sweep over Dartmouth. Kyle Bodie scored at 2:37 of the
second, while Shayne Gostisbehere hit the net at 4:47, giving Union a
3-0 lead and chasing Dartmouth starting goalie Charles Grant. Union
led 1-0 after the first period on a goal by Kevin Sullivan at 1:32.
Eric Neiley scored shorthanded for Dartmouth at 9:20 of the second to
cut the lead to 3-1. Third-period goals by Union's Josh Jooris and
Kevin Sullivan sandwiched an unassisted marker by Dustin Walsh of
Dartmouth. Shots on goal were even at 30 apiece, with Troy Grosenick
making 28 saves to earn the win. Grant made 12 saves on 15 shots for
Dartmouth, while Cab Morris stopped 13 shots in 34:39 of relief work.

Game 3 at RPI is set for Sunday at 7 p.m., while the game at
Quinnipiac will start at 7:30.

Semi-final possibilities:
Quinnipiac and RPI: Quinnipiac vs. Union, RPI vs. Yale
Quinnipiac and Brown: Quinnipiac vs. Brown, Yale vs. Union
Cornell and RPI: RPI vs. Cornell, Yale vs. Union
Cornell and Brown: Yale vs. Cornell, Union vs. Brown
