It was a great finish, but I thought the important play was at the blue
line (pardon my poor recollection, if the following doesn't jive with the
facts...).

With the puck being carried up the left center, and with additional
rushers on the right, the BC puck carrier slowed, and the UND
defenseman on that side retreated slightly.  Kolanos was skating hard
diagonally from right to left and crossed between the puck carrier and
defenseman on that side.  Kolanos had a UND defender, but he was
some distance away.  As the BC players crossed paths, the UND
defender with Kolanos expected a defensive switch, but the stationary
UND defender either didn't see Kolanos or didn't realize his
momentum and was caught flat-footed.  The defender recovered better
than I expected, only to be surprised or overwhelmed by Kolanos
strength.  Kolanos was able to pull the puck back so far from the goal,
the aggressive UND goalie missed, leaving an empty net. With the
defenders stick at the midsection of Kolanos, the offensive stick was
free to push the puck home.  Great play from a great player!
