What a memory - give that man a cigar! Brian Bellefeuille, also from
Framingham (and so probably Blake's brother), was a forward for Maine from
1986-90. Brian recorded 20-22--42 in 95 games for Maine, but his best
season by far was his senior year when he totalled 13-10--23 in 42 games.
He transferred to Maine in the middle of the 1986-87 season after playing
just two games at Illinois-Chicago and joined the team midway through
1987-88.

Brian also played for Canterbury Prep after Framingham North (then, the
town had two high schools, North and South), and he tallied 53-54--107 in
33 games there. Once he got going, he had a decent career at Maine, so
playing for a public school didn't seem to hurt him. But the time off
during his transfer may have hurt, as he only recorded 7-12--19 in his
first 53 collegiate games. Since Blake is apparently going to BC straight
from a public high school and forgoing prep, it will be interesting to see
how quick of a transition he makes.

I believe a plus for Blake is that he plays for Coach Bruce Parker at
Framingham, and Parker is known as one of the better coaches in the area.
Parker has won everywhere he has coached, including a five year stint at
Merrimack from 1978-83 when the team was DivII. Parker's tenure came in
between that of the two winningest coaches in Merrimack history, J. Thom
Lawler and current coach Ron Anderson.
