In the WCHA, on a five-minute power play, teams are credited with with one
power play attempt for every power play goal they score, plus one. It
doesn't seem that fair, but that's the way it is.
Justin Doherty, the SID, at North Dakota tells me he is keeping "power play
goals per 2 minutes" this year. It'll be interesting to see what he comes
up with.
Also, regarding the Apex One sponsorship of the WCHA Final Five, it is a
three-year agreement. Although I can't tell you exact details of the
agreement, it is a good one for the WCHA.
