Cubism is the right word. Dada was much like
surrealism’s automatisms to be attractive to Pound.
Both these moviments are on the opposite side, whereas
cubism taught techniques of composing time and space
as an art of new perception; Joyce used them in
Ulysses and FW; and Pound appreciated Picasso, Cocteau
etc.
The base technique in the Cantos is due less to
ideograms or any other conception than to cubism, and
the key is that with it, time and space are no more
like classic divisions: they set up a world in which
everything occurs simultaneously.
See Pound’s introduction to his own book The
Spirit of Romance (1910): he was not able to adapt the
idea to his poetic techniques then, but he felt
something of that sort would happen.
