The current auto-bids should remain as they are.  Every major conference
team has an entire season to prove they are among the top three/four teams
in their conference and make the tourney.  Anyone who falls short shouldn't
complain.  They had a bad season and realistically had no chance to win
anyway.  If they wanted to show their our aptitude to win it all, then
could've won their conference tournament!

We too often hear the same bellyaching from squeakball coaches that since
their team finished 8-8 in the conference - good for 7th place, they should
make the tournament.  Wrong!  Your team is mediocre and had every
opportunity to demonstrate it was worthy to challenge for the title - but
it didn't!
