Hmm.

1. "how many other schools are guilty of this"...well, Brigham Young
doesn't play D1 hockey, so I'd guess, probably ALL of them.
2. "beloved Maine Black Bears"...I'd suggest this is why one shouldn't
ever "belove" a bunch of 20 year old hockey players: they tend to do dumb
things once in a while. Like pretty much every other group of 25 active,
healthy college students. (Me included, at the time.) I'm not knocking
Maine athletes particularly, but acknowledge it, some Maine players have
probably done a few things you wouldn't want to see on page 1 or the
evening news. As have some BU players, some Michigan players, some
Mercyhurst players, heck probably even some St. Thomas DIII players.

Is this a big deal? Not really, not to me. Anybody who doesn't see that
there's underage drinking on and off college campuses is living on another
planet. There's no evidence any of the players has done anything truly
reckless, although that's always a possibility - it's happened before at
other schools. But Lucia will certainly give the kids a stern dressing
down and I assume declare Barney's off-limits. (The MaryAnn's solution.
BC's coach, it might have still been Cedorchuk who was before York, had to
do just that after one too many fights broke out.) It's one of the
consequences of going to the U of M, that you're living in a brighter
spotlight than, say, Mankato, or Union.
