"Until I see outside, independently audited accounts that break down and
detail line items, I'm not going to believe that the Minnesota hockey
program is really making as much money as we are told."

It is possible that the number isn't exact, but for those who know the
program, it wouldn't surprise many if the number were higher. This is a
program that sells every ticket (in fact many of them twice) most at $26,
suites, a private club, gets additional donations ($600 a seat) for about
10% of the building, has a full season TV contract, a radio contract, large
merchandise sales, $7 parking for the 9900 patrons and all 18 of its
scholarships endowed.

I am not an accountant, but I would suspect that the overall revenue number
could be pretty easily approximated using known figures. I am a little less
clear about the expenses (except for Don Lucia's salary which has been
printed publicly).

One question that would be interesting to know is whether ice time rental at
Mariucci is counted as men's hockey revenue or overall department revenue
and if so whether all of the building's personnel are charged to the men's
hockey program.
