According to the Star Tribune, Gopher Hockey is close to an 8 year deal with
FSN. See link below. Hockey has been negotiated separately from football
and basektball in the past, although as of this year, their radio rights
were packaged into the WCCO football-squeakball deal.

Subject: Gopher games on TV?

I just read a piece by Charley Hallman
[http://www.channel4000.com/sports/columnists/columnists-97068220010924-0909
04.html] that left me confused about whether or not U of MN mens' hockey
games will be broadcast this season. It has something to do with Fox Sports
and ESPN Regional being unable to agree on local packages.

I was wondering if any of the MN folks here (Carol? Erik? Frank M.?) could
shed some light on this...
