If you're referring to the 12-team, single-elimination (not best-of-3 first round
series, etc) format that started in 1992, then yes.

Four teams have won the national championship without the benefit of a bye -
Lake Superior St. (1992 & 1994), Michigan (1998), and Maine (1999). As far
as the record on "bye" vs "non-bye" teams in the tournament since 1992, the
"bye" team is 28-12 - including this year. That's 70% of the time.
