Had to go back one more year... in 1995, the top 4 teams in the RPI made the
Frozen Four, although one of them (Minnesota) had to do so without benefit of
the bye... back then (this was pre-PWR), teams that were within 0.01 of each
other were compared head-to-head on several criteria (record in last 20 games,
record vs. common opponents, etc.) for seeding purposes, and Minnesota lost
the #2 West seed to Colorado College (#6 in RPI) -- but beat CC in the Western
Regional to complete the RPI's picks for the Frozen Four.
