Dear Friends of College Hockey --

For more than three decades, Bob and Edda Olson have been tremendous
friends of college hockey. The WMPL Radio Poll was the first-ever
college hockey poll and was managed and maintained by Edda Olson for
part of three decades. As many of you are also likely aware, WMPL has
served as the clearinghouse for all college hockey scores every night
the game is played for more than 20 years. WMPL has provided both of
these services only for the good of college hockey. And of course,
Bob Olson is now in his 30th year as Michigan Tech's hockey
broadcaster and is a well-know figure throughout college hockey.

Unfortunately, on Saturday at 1:40 p.m., Edda Olson died at Portage
Hospital in Hancock, Mich. She had been battling cancer. A wake
service for Mrs. Olson will be held Monday (Oct. 9) from 5 p.m. - 8
p.m. (EDT) at Church of the Resurrection (900 Quincy Street, Hancock,
MI 49930). The funeral will take place Tuesday (Oct. 10) at 11 a.m.,
also at Church of the Resurrection.

Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave
