In the annual Hall of Fame game Minnesota defeats Notre Dame
7 to 3 in the brand new X-cel Center in downtown St Paul.

There was a large crowd on hand to see the game.  The Gopher
freshman looked impressive with Troy Riddle Matt Koalska and
Grant Potulny each scoring their first goals for the maroon and
gold.  Captain Erik Westrum had two goals.

The Gophers outshot the Irish 31 to 18.  There were several
skirmishes and at one point the penalty boxes were full!

It was a fun game to watch and nice to see the venue for the
2002 Frozen Four up close and personal.

GO GO Gophers!!!
