At the Frozen Four a few years ago (Cincinnati?), the repeated playing of this
song really annoyed me in the semi-final. I counted during the final game and
the celebration afterward - the final tally was something like 18 times!!! It
is kind of a catchy tune, and I could handle it for the first 10 or 15 times,
but 18 was just plain excessive!!! And this didn't even include the pep rally
outside the arena before the game.
I had nightmares for weeks.... I would wake up screaming and found myself
humming "Hail to the Victors" for no apparent reason. I've gotten over it now,
but it took some time. I can point you to a good therapist/lawyer specializing
in mental trauma cases.... ;-) ;-)
Thank you, UMaine, for beating Michigan. I am looking forward to a less
stressful time in Providence, knowing that the Michigan >>band<< won't be
there.
