ESPN has this advantage over regional networks (such as FSNE) for four reasons:
 
1. They have no higher authority to answer to -- they are the national HQ.
 
2. There is only one major sport broadcast on ESPN at the time of the
Frozen Four -- hockey -- that might conflict with the broadcast. Baseball's
opening day comes after the Frozen Four.
 
3. The majority of NHL broadcasts on ESPN draw lower ratings than the
Frozen Four.
