The effect of UVM cancelling its season depends. If we assume that UVM's
games played already count for RPI and PWR, then the effect will only be on
ECAC teams, as UVM had only ECAC teams left. UVM had no non-conference
games remaining on the schedule.

If this is not the case, then these teams could be affected:
Hockey East
Boston C. - Beat UVM Dec. 30
Boston U. - Lost to UVM Oct. 23
Mass-Amherst - Tied UVM Nov. 23
New Hampshire - Beat UVM Oct. 16
WCHA
North Dakota - Beat UVM Nov. 27
St. Cloud - Won two games vs UVM Oct. 29-30
CCHA
Notre Dame - Beat UVM Nov. 28
Ohio State - Beat UVM Dec. 29
CHA
Niagara - Lost to UVM Dec. 4

As for the ECAC, their tournament is largely unaffected, thanks to the
league eliminating two teams. UVM has 8 points, and is currently tied for
8th place with Cornell and Union. Clarkson is in 11th on 5 points and Brown
is 12th on 4 points. I don't think anything special would need to be done,
as one of Clarkson or Brown should end up with at least 8 points.

Here's what UVM has done in the conference so far:
Wins over: Brown, Princeton, Union
Losses to: Harvard, Yale
Ties with: Dartmouth, Rensselaer
Clarkson, Colgate, Cornell & St. Lawrence had not played Vermont to date.

The ECAC standings to date:
                GP W-L-T Pts
1. Harvard 12 6-5-1 13
2. Yale 10 5-3-2 12
3. St. Lawrence 8 5-2-1 11
   Princeton 10 4-3-3 11
5. Colgate 8 5-3-0 10
6. Dartmouth 8 3-2-3 9
   Rensselaer 9 4-4-1 9
8. VERMONT 7 3-2-2 8
   Cornell 8 4-4-0 8
   Union 9 4-5-0 8
11.Clarkson 8 1-4-3 5
12.Brown 11 2-9-0 4

The way I see it the ECAC has three options:
1. All existing games are left as is, remaining games are called forfeits.
In this scenario, the three CUs and St. Lawrence benefit, as they would
gain four points, while the other seven teams gain only two. This would
immediately change the standings as follows:

                GP W-L-T Pts
1. St. Lawrence 10 7-2-1 15
   Harvard 13 7-5-1 15
3. Colgate 10 7-3-0 14
   Yale 11 6-3-2 14
5. Princeton 11 5-3-3 13
6. Cornell 10 6-4-0 12
7. Dartmouth 9 4-2-3 11
   Rensselaer 10 5-4-1 11
9. Union 10 5-5-0 10
10.Clarkson 10 3-4-3 9
11.VERMONT 22 3-17-2 8
12.Brown 12 3-9-0 6

2. All existing games are left as is, remaining games are ignored.
In this scenario, the three CUs and St. Lawrence are harmed, as they would
end up playing only 20 ECAC games, while the other seven teams will have
played 21. The standings are, of course, left unchanged.

3. All Vermont games are disregarded. (They could call all UVM's games
forfeits, but the relative effect would be the same.)
The benefits the teams UVM beat (Brown, Princeton, Union), and hurts the
teams who gained points against UVM (Dartmouth, RPI, Harvard & Yale). This
would immediately change the standings as follows:

                GP W-L-T Pts
1. St. Lawrence 8 5-2-1 11
   Harvard 11 5-5-1 11
   Princeton 9 4-2-3 11
4. Colgate 8 5-3-0 10
   Yale 9 4-3-2 10
6. Dartmouth 7 3-2-2 8
   Rensselaer 8 4-4-0 8
   Cornell 8 4-4-0 8
   Union 8 4-4-0 8
10.Clarkson 8 1-4-3 5
11.Brown 10 2-8-0 4
12.VERMONT 0 0-0-0 0

Like all good ECAC things, this would make the standings even more
congested than they are now.

I also wonder if the ECAC teams will demand some sort of compensation from
Vermont, as every team except Harvard, Brown & Dartmouth had home games
remaining with Vermont, and will thus lose whatever revenue they would have
gained from them. Clarkson, St. Lawrence, Colgate, Cornell, Harvard & Brown
could save money if they decide to make their Dartmouth trip a single day,
rather than a weekend.
