This weekend was the much anticipated return of CC's former coach Don
Lucia, and though the Tigers were slow coming out of the gate, they came
to life in the last two periods to defeat the Gophers for the 10th
consecutive time, 3-0. According to the media guide, this is the first
time CC has shut out Minnesota since the '65-66 season, and Jeff Sanger's
first home shutout.

The first period was a bit sluggish for both teams, and there were plenty
of penalties to go around, 7 for Minnesota and 6 for CC. Then on a Gopher
power play in the second period, the Tiger special teams came out flying
and Trent Clark got CC on the board with a shorthanded goal. Noah Clarke
doubled the lead about 5 minutes later. Late in the third period Justin
Morrison put in the final tally for his first goal of the season. Toby
Petersen got assists on the last two goals, and with those points became
the next Tiger to join the "Century Club" with 100 career points.

Same two teams tomorrow night.
