Well gee, life ain't fair. I read a short story for english class about a
>> supposed utopia society where everyone was equal. Turns out everyone was
>> equal - they all had handicaps to make them dumb, clumsy, and no one was
>> improving anything. This is what Title IX will eventually do, instead of
>> making everyone better, it'll drag everyone into the gutter.

>Okay, I nearly busted a gut laughing at this paragraph. If it can be
summed up
>with, "Life ain't fair," then what in the world are you doing all this
complaining
>about? Physician, heal thyself.

Life is not fair and cry me a river. I think I read the same stupid
story in English class during my freshman year too. Boring...

I think The Morass of college sports is that Mens sports in Division one
like Football and Basketball just make so much money and bring their school
so much money (I believe it is in the Millions) that it does not really
comput to start putting quotas on mens sports just for the sole purpose of
making things equal, as we can see from the Ben's above rant that life is
not fair, deal with it. I suppose you can put Division one Hockey in the
equation too, I guess you could call WHCA the SEC or ACC of hockey because
they lead the NCAA hockey to record numbers each year as far as attendance
but you can not and should not compare or try to make it equal to Division
one womens hockey, you are talking about apples and oranges, I heard on the
radio that Mankato or some one else had like 47 fans at a game, or that
Bemidji State's team got clobbered every time they went out. Should we take
a scholarship away from the Gopher mens team to give the Women team a
scholarship. I think that Title nine is way flawed. Sure women should have
oppurtunities but not at the expense of men's sports espeically if they are
making money...
