Sure Minnesota could do well recruiting outside of the state.  We could also
do better if Woog recruited better inside the state and took more Jr A
players.  I just get tired of hearing people decry the "all-Minnesota thing"
and then using it as a reason for the team' recent failures.  The failures
are due to other reasons.  They can win with or without an all-Minnesota
team with proper coaching, recruiting and development.  As to rooting for
UND, my second favorite team, it is in part because of their coach and their
style of play that I admire them.  The fact that they have 8 Minnesotans,
including a couple that we know, doesn't hurt.  We are pretty damn proud of
our hockey tradition in this state and enjoy following players that we
watched play in HS make it in D-1.
