As a long-time attendee of Eastern regionals (as a BU fan), here's my take
on attendance.

Teams you want in the Eastern Regional, from an attendance point of view:

1. New Hampshire. Rabid fans, travel very well.
2. Maine. Even more rabid fans, but unfortunately not within easy driving
distance of any regional site. Fans will be there if they expect their team
to win, which is likely the case this year.
3. Vermont. What a great crowd in the years they were good.
4. Boston University.
5. Clarkson. An amazing number of alums for a school that size.
6. Rensselaer. Especially at home in Albany.
7. (tie) Any of the large midwestern state schools. So many alums, so few
chances to see their teams.
8. Boston College. Only the students travel well.
9. Harvard. Not even the students.
-. Cornell and St. Lawrence. The only other two Eastern teams to make it to
an Eastern regional. I didn't see their games.
-. All of the other eastern teams. Never made it to the East. Several have
only played out west (UML, NU, Yale, Princeton).

So this looks like a decent year for the East, especially since the West
only gets St. Lawrence and Boston College from the East, which wouldn't have
been major draws to Worcester. Also, it's better to have two days of Maine
than UNH since the Maine folks have to make the major travel effort anyway.
