What a wild two weekends these were. For being 7-27-4, the Bulldogs
certainly put up a fight and didn't hand the Tigers any easy wins. Last
weekend CC had to come from behind both games, after blowing a 2-0 lead
the first night and a 1-0 lead the second. This weekend for the playoffs
the Tigers never fell behind, but Duluth certainly didn't let them run
away with the lead, closing to within a goal several times and tying
things up tonight with 42 seconds left in regulation. CC was able to pull
off the win 6:17 into overtime, with some amazing saves by both Sanger and
Nicklin. It's probably good for the Tigers that they didn't have to go to
game 3, as it might've been up in the air who would've won.

Now the Tigers wait for the outcome of the North Dakota-Mankato series to
determine who they will play in the semifinals of the Final Five in
Minneapolis.

The Tigers did suffer a big loss in the second period tonight, as Toby
Petersen went down with a broken leg for the second time this season, this
time breaking his left leg. It was broken in two places, and he'll have
surgery on it tomorrow morning. It's going to be rough for the Tigers with
both Toby and Darren Clark now out.
