I've wanted to post this for awhile, and Bob Griebel's excellent article on
the history of the WCHA and CCHA has inspired me.
 
I've followed the WCHA since the early 70's and have always thought it to
the superior league in the country. At times in the 80's I've even thought
four of the top five teams in the country were in the WCHA.
 
No more. My allegiance has and always will be with the WCHA, but the CCHA
has proven dominant where it counts at NCAA tournament time. North Dakota
might be the best team in the country but I feel the CCHA doesn't get
nearly the respect it deserves in all the poll rankings. As always, HE and
the ECHA are given too much credit. Throughout this season I feel that 3 of
the top 5 teams in the country are in the CCHA-
 
Please, this is just one person's converted/perverted opinion.
