You hear all sorts of excuses from administrators and players:
>
>"If not for fighting, there's be too much stickwork, like college and
Europe"
>"You need to protect your teammates"
>"You need to create space"
>"You're getting banged around all the time, you get frustrated"
>
I think that the No-Fighting rule in college hockey allows players that
are smaller to take liberties with bigger players a player like Jason Blake
(I am just using him as an example) could go up to a Andy Sutton (MTU last
years player who was a tree trunk) (You can insert any 2 players you want)
and wack him and cheep shot him and get in his face and yap at him and if
the refs do not see it they know they are not going to get anything but
maybe a wack in the back of the head or face cage, hence, sending that
retalitating player to the box for 2-4 minutes. I believe this causes a lot
of stick work in the NCAA hockey because of this rule. I also blame some of
the stick that stupid face mask rule) I believe that in the NHL you do not
see that kind of play go unnoticed with out having to drop the mits, this
also make you accountable for your stupid action. I believe fighting would
clean up the game and you would see an entertaining fight without having the
players get suppended for more than the rest of the game much like the USHL
or OHL, WHL....
