Colorado College got a much needed win tonight and snapped a 3-game losing
streak, skating to a 3-2 victory over Michigan Tech.

Shots came out even in the first period. Both teams got a power play
opportunity in the first period, and the Huskies got on the board first
just as theirs expired with a goal by Paul Cabana about 6 minutes in. Cam
Kryway tied things up 5 minutes later on a goal that literally very slowly
trickled in over the goal line behind David Weninger.

The Tigers pulled into the lead early in the second on a goal by Aaron
Karpan. About a minute and a half later, Paul Manning and Devin Hartnell
got into it right in front of the Tech bench, pulling helmets off and
hitting each other. They both got 5 for fighting and a DQ. Two other
players who started getting at each other after that got double roughing.
CC increased their lead to 3-1 towards the middle of the period on a goal
from Jesse Heerema. The Huskies went on their third power play of the
night, and this time capitalized only 17 seconds in on a goal by Brad
Patterson to close the gap to one. The Tigers at one point thought they
had another goal, but Buzzy waived it off. CC outshot Tech 13-5 in this
period.

No goals in the third period, but for Tiger fans that was more welcome
than having the Huskies tie things up. Both teams had some good
opportunities to score, and Jeff Sanger and Weninger made some really nice
saves. Shots were almost even again this period, with CC having a 11-8
edge.

Same two teams tomorrow night.
