And yet would you suggest that someone who sits out of school for a year or
two, perhaps someone in the service for 4 years after High school, should
not be eligible for a scholarship?  Or not allowed to play at all?
 
The NCAA does impose some age limit, and I'm sure there is some rule about
whether you are scholarship eligible based on professional or semipro play
before college.  But while a 20 year old Freshman on average might have a
slight physical advantage over an 18 year old Freshman (or maturity
advantage?), I really don't think its such a huge problem that it needs to
be addressed by limiting scholarships or playing opportunities.
