Just a note that scholarship dollars, REGARDLESS of whether the school is a
private or state school, do not come from state dollars.

At the University of Minnesota, none of the money used to fund the men's
athletic department comes from state funds. The department is totally
self-supporting.

At others schools (such as Mankato or St. Cloud) money to operate the athletic
department comes from state funding but all scholarship dollars are raised
through donations, special events, etc.
