It's happened this season at Minnesota.  The Gophers grabbed Rob LaRue from the
football team to serve as backup goalie to Adam Hauser after Willy Marvin left
the team.  LaRue also played baseball in 1998, but is on a football
scholarship.  Some Gopher fans will remember Andy Brink, who played a few years
ago.  He was recruited from the golf team.  Yes, golf.  Both LaRue and Brink
played high school hockey, so it's not all that remarkable.
