Tonight at the Marine Midland Arena (site of the 2003 Frozen Four) the
Buffalo Sabres' Steve Shields faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers
Garth Snow.  These same goalies also faced each other in the 1992
Championship game in Milwaukee, Snow with the Maine Black Bears and
Shields with the Michigan Wolverines.  Snow came in in relief of Mike
Dunham, formerly with the Albany River Rats, and now, I believe, with the
St. Louis Blues.
 
My question: Is this the first time that the two goalies in the College
Hockey Championship game have faced each other in a Stanley Cup contest?
