You asked for it, you got it.
Around the Rinks is now being made available for listening in both RealAudio
formats -- 14.4 and 28.8. This means, if you have a 28.8kbps modem, you can
listen to Around the Rinks in clear FM-Radio quality.
(Please note, the 28.8 version of Around the Rinks is available as of Tuesday
mornings, not Monday night like the 14.4 version.)
14.4kbps modem users can still enjoy Around the Rinks like before. The 14.4
version is usually quite sufficient for listening to what's mainly voice
transmissions. But now, with the 28.8 version, you have the option of listening
to a college hockey radio show, in real time, with true radio-like sound
quality.
Already, in just its first year, Around the Rinks has brought college hockey
fans coverage of their sport unlike that they could get ever before, or
anywhere else.
Features have included:
Maine's sanctions
New Hall of Fame inductees
Retrospective on career of Tom Mees
In depth previews of all conferences, including sound bites from most coaches
World Junior reports, including exclusive interviews with Jeff Jackson
North Dakota's Jason Blake
Michigan's John Madden
Michigan State's Sean Berens
Vermont's dynamic duo
Miami's Randy Robitaille
UAF's Cody Bowtell
Colgate's Mike Harder
and more
"In the News" keeps you up to date on the latest
"Where are they Now?" has included features on:
Bryan Smolinksi
Peter Ferraro
Ken Gernander
and more
And the week in Review section is a weekly compendium of the biggest action
from that week's games, including expert analysis, and player and coach
comments.
All of the above can still be heard at the archive page, accessible through the
main screen.
And Around the Rinks, in conjunction with US College Hockey Online, runs the
nation's largest and most comprehensive college hockey poll.
We've done a lot already, and expect even more exciting things in the future,
especially at tournament time.
See you at the rinks (and bring a friend).
