The Colorado College Tigers for the first time in this very young season
won an opening night game, 6-2. CC scored 3 goals in a span of 4:30 on
Friday. The win put DU at 1-4 in WCHA league play while the Tigers
advanced to a three team tie for 2nd place @ 4-3.

The Tigers who started the season 0-22 on the power play, were 2 for 6
against DU. The penalty-killing unit stopped all three Pioneer power
plays. Looks like the power play is starting to come around.

Freshman Dan Peters power play goal and T.J. Tanberg's first goal of the
season came within 19 seconds of each other to give CC a 2-0 first period
lead. But the Pioneers answered with scored two soft rebound goals in the
1st period.

With both teams one man down in the 2nd period bodtker scored his second
goal of the season off a pass from freshamn Toby Petersen, right from the
face off in DU's end @ 6:55 and the Tigers never looked back. Elfring
scored just 2:00 after that. Sophmore Darren Clark scored from a behind
the back pass from teammate Brian Swanson, 2:09 later.

DU goaltender Jim Mullin might have seen the last of his playing days for
a while, he had 12 save. While Judd Lambert made 28 saves, including 12
in the 3rd.

Game 2 of the home-and-home series will be played Sunday afternoon at the
Air Force Cadet Ice Arena.
