The Bradley Center had an NCAA basketball subregional last weekend. I'm sure
that was booked far in advance.
 
Three years ago, the WCHA held the tournament at the Bradley Center, the
first time is was not in St. Paul, and announced their intention to
alternate between the two. I don't know if they signed a long-term
contract with either or both arenas, however.
 
This is from memory, and I hope it is accurate: Sometime last year,
before this year's schedule was set, the WCHA became aware of the
issue. The coaches were asked to vote for either Milwaukee, with the
extra week off, or St. Paul, without the week off. The coaches voted for
Milwaukee.
