This is not true as written. While Boston University will likely finish
first, UMass-Lowell is not even close to wrapping up the #2 spot. Maine is
one game out of the #2 spot, with a game in hand and two games remaining.
Maine also currently has the edge in the tie breaker (1-0-1 versus UML (7-3
on points). So UMass-Lowell HAS to win their last game at Maine or they
will be the #3 team. Should Maine lose to Providence a shootout win would
be enough for the River Hawks, but they cannot come to Maine and lose and
still be the #2 seed. Under no circumstance can UMass-Lowell lose that game
and still be the #2 seed. If Maine beats Providence on Friday, all they
have to do is tie UMass-Lowell to slip ahead to #2.
To suggest that UMass-Lowell is the #2 seed hands down is completely
premature. The race for #2 won't be decided till the last day of the season.
