Vermont, the pre-season pick for the top spot in the ECAC, justified the
prognosticators' faith in them with a weekend sweep, taking over first
place in the league with an 8-0-1 record. This sets up a big weekend for
the Catamounts, who will be making their annual pilgrimage to the North
Country to take over former #1 team St. Lawrence (currently two points back
in second place), and Clarkson (another two points back, tied for fourth).

Travel partner Dartmouth had a solid weekend as well, as defeats of Yale
and Princeton extended the Big Green's winning streak to three games and
vaulted them from last into a tie for ninth. Meanwhile, Princeton's death
spiral continues, as the Tigers are now 0-8-2 in their last ten ECAC games
and have taken up residence in the league cellar.
