The socre was 2-0 after the first period and it looked like UM was headed to
another 5 or 6 to 1 game.  But UM exploded in the second period for 7 goals
and went on to defeat Miami 13-0.  I've been going to UM games for over 5
years now and this game is very typical of a UM team that just slaughters
opponents who aren't up to UM's speed and talent - then UM has trouble in the
finals and tournaments when they have to face tough teams.  At least this
year they face MSU and BGSU the final two games of the season for a very nice
warm-up for the playoffs.  Let's wait and see where UM is at that point. They
always beat up the lower-ranked teams in January - don't make a big deal
about it.
 
This game was a "stat" game for the players.  16 players scored points, 9
different goal scorers.  For the weekend, Morrison had 11 points, Madden had
6, Muckalt had 5, Hayes, Hilton, Legg, and Herr had 4 each.  Botterill had a
hat trick against Miami, Herr and Madden each scored 2 goals.  Three of UM's
goals were shorthanded, just like the night before, so that's 6 short handed
goals this weekend.  UM was 4 for 4 on their power play and 3 for 4 when
short handed.
