I decided against posting this to INFO-HOCKEY-L because it isn't
directly related to college hockey, but I know it will be of interest
to some people.

First, tonight (9/29/95) is the closing of the Boston Garden. There
will be a 2.5 hour theatrical presentation hosted by Dan Rather and
WBZ's Bob Lobel and including live many of the athletes and other
celebrities of Garden days gone by. The show will be carried live on
WBZ-TV4 and WBZ-AM1030 radio for those of you who can receive the
stations, starting at 8 pm ET. Even if you do not get WBZ-TV, the
radio station often covers the entire continental US at night and much
of Canada, so it may be worth trying to pick it up.

The FleetCenter opening (also 2.5 hours) will be Saturday night
(9/30/95), but I do not believe it will be carried live on tv or
radio.

Finally, the FleetCenter has a web site. The URL is:

http://www.fleetcenter.com/

It includes a calendar of events and seating chart (the chart Sean
Pickett has on his BU site - Sean has a link to the FleetCenter site
from his BU site, and this is how I learned about it). The calendar
is not complete yet, however, and neither is the rest of the site -
but they say it will include such goodies as a seat locator. You'll
be able to locate your seat in the arena and see a view of the arena
from that seat, according to the information given. Again, this item
is not yet in place.
