Independently of each other, Chuck Cliff and I had been attempting to
compile lists of all the college and universities in the U.S. (and Canada)
that have ice hockey teams, both on the varsity and club levels. Having
discovered our common project, we're not sharing information.
     Compiling those schools that play on the varsity level is easy. So is
putting together lists of the ACHA-type club teams. What we're trying to do
is make it as comprehensive as possible. For example, from doing a WWW
search on college hockey, we came across a site in that maintains
information of the club at the University of Idaho and on a league that
spans Idaho, Oregon and Washington colleges.
     The College Hockey Guide published out of Florida is a help, but last
year's book lacked a feature of previous books when a list of contact names
and addresses for club teams that weren't ACHA affiliated was omitted.
     So, we're looking for help from list members involved in club hockey,
junior college hockey or any of the non-CIAU schools in Canada.
     If you could forward any information to me ([log in to unmask]) or Chuck
([log in to unmask]), it would be appreciated. Who are in the various club
leagues? What schools that you wouldn't think of play club hockey? What
schools have both varsity and club teams?
     Thanks for any help any HOCKEY-Lers or HOCKEY3ers can give us. Once we
get this in good shape, probably well into the season, we'll post our
findings.
