Does anyone out there know if any Div. 1 schools are recruiting Duluth
East's Spehar and Locker? I was really impressed with Spehar's play! Do
Juniors in HS start getting recruited or do only HS seniors get recruited?

I would have to say the media build up of Bloomington Jefferson's team
was the biggest overhype since Geraldo's opening of Al Capone's vault. I
looked forward to Thursday night's Bloomington Jefferson/Duluth East game
with great anticipation, believing that I was going to see in Bloomington
Jefferson the greated HS hockey team in history. Boy was I wrong!!! They
came out flat footed and Duluth East totally took advantage of it.

I was not impressed by the play of the hightly recruited Bloom.Jeff.
players. Anderson, a kid who has signed with the U of M had many juicy
chances but was stonewalled by the excellent Duluth East goalie. The
other guy who has signed with SCSU also had many good chances, but like
the Gopher forwards frequently do, these Bloom.Jeff.h.s. guy fired point
blank shots into the Duluth goalie's pads.

The playmakers on the Duluth team, Spehar and Locker, on the other had
look like excellent stick handlers. I sure hope these kids sign with
Minnesota schools (preferably the school located in the major
metropolitan area of the state).

Looking forward to this weekend's matchup between the Dogs and Gophahs!
