I want to thank everyone on the list who responded to my inquiry as to whether or not Olga Rudge had ever made any recordings. I guess it's pretty clear that she didn't, but I still find it odd. After the advent of recording with a microphone (instead of a horn), somewhere around 1920, many classical string players, Casals, etc., recorded regularly. With Olga's reputation, it's curious she was not among them. Anyway, it's a great pity. How marvelous it would be to hear her today.
Incidentally, I recommend the Anne Conover biography highly. Basic enough that non-scholars can enjoy it, but plenty of things I had never known before. And a great love story.
